VM kernel tracing with ftrace and trace-cmd

Debugging a workload inside a VM can be a challenging task, especially in cases when the VM is competing for a shared host resource or the problem is in the interaction between the host and guest kernels. In this presentation I will discuss a recent trace-cmd extensions, allowing simultaneously tracing of host and guest kernels using ftrace and visualizing the traces with Kernel-Shark. I will do a short ftrace introduction for those who are not familiar with it.
